Essentials of College Planning for Adults
Instructor: Christy Le
Survey the basic steps for successful college enrollment.
The session will discuss college & trade school options in
our region, entrance requirements, readiness & transitional
issues of adult students, admissions procedures and financial
aid. During the session students will review a typical
admissions application, request admissions materials and
financial aid information from prospective colleges for each
participant, and complete the financial aid (FAFSA) form.
Please bring a copy of your most recent taxes. This session
is designed to set the stage for future enhanced workshops
or individual counseling sessions.

Writing for College
instructor: Ava Clough
The purpose of Writing for College is to improve your skills
in writing and reading academic English so that you can
pass the Accuplacer and not have to take remedial English
classes in college. The instruction will focus on the reading,
writing, and grammar structures that are found on the Accuplacer.
As a group, we will read and discuss college-level
essays; reading and written homework are assigned every
week. At the end of the course, you will take an actual English
Accuplacer in reading and sentence skills.

This course is for anyone who needs a review in mathematics
before taking the Accuplacer test or for anyone
just wanting to brush up on their skills. Individualized
program. Casual atmosphere. Non-credited. Start anytime
during the semester and take the Accuplacer on site when
you feel ready, at no cost to you. Come to as many classes as
you need. Textbook included. Open enrollment throughout
the year.
